North County Police Arrest Suspect of Attempted Drug Dealing

Police officers of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sokol district during night patrols on Surikov Street noticed an unknown person whose behavior seemed suspicious.

During a personal search of the man, a backpack, as well as in the pockets of his clothes, police officers found and seized 67 bundles with an unknown substance. The total weight of the seized, together with the packaging material, amounted to 860 grams. A study of part of the confiscated found that the bundles contained two types of substances, a narcotic drug – mephedrone and a psychotropic substance – amphetamine. 2 mobile phones and 3 bank cards were also seized.

During a search using a service dog trained to search for narcotic drugs, the police found and seized in the detainee’s apartment: 28 plaster casts, 10 rolls of electrical tape, 4 polymer bags with a powdery substance. The seized was sent for examination.

The police found that the drugs were intended for further sale.

On this fact, the investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Sokol district of Moscow initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under part 3 of article 30 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Preparation for a crime and attempted crime” and part 4 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, as well as illegal sale or transfer of plants containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, or parts thereof containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances.

The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of ten to twenty years.

In relation to the suspect, a measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen ,  “said the head of the UIiOS of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow, Colonel of the Internal Service Vladimir Vasenin.
